Thoroughly Recommend the Gentle Dental Centre
I would thoroughly recommend the Gentle Dental Centre – specifically Sam (Dentist), Holly (Dental Hygienist) and Lavinia (Reception). All are always unfailingly polite, cheerful, and a pleasure to deal with.
Sam has done a large amount of work on my teeth including a bridge, several crowns and fillings (I got the family “bad teeth” gene). All of his work has been outstanding and especially with the big jobs, he took time to explain things and to follow up on his own time afterward to ensure I was fine and had no issues recovering.
Holly also does excellent work and is unfailingly cheerful. Lavinia is also great to deal with for appointments and payments. I would unhesitatingly endorse them as one of the best dental teams in Wellington. I am so glad I changed to using them and have never regretted it.

Huge Thanks to Mike and the Team
For as long as I can remember I was embarrassed about my teeth!
Then, on a recommendation from a friend, I headed on down to Gentle Dental on Lambton Quay.
I have always been scared of the pain of dentistry, as I remember dental nurses at school doing fillings without pain relief and forever scoffing and telling me off.
At Gentle Dental Lambton however, I was introduced to a whole new world of dentistry. Mike Tonks and his team are about the nicest bunch of people you are ever like to meet, and amazingly, the “Gentle”, in Gentle Dental, means just that! No pain in dentistry, what witchcraft is this?
I have been coming to Mike for 3 years now, and from the friendly girls at reception, the wonderful hygienist team, and all the way up to Mike and Ruby in the dentist’s room, they all make me feel welcome and safe.
Mike has always been straight forward with what needed to be done, what the urgency of each thing was going to be, and the cost of getting it done, and this has made my planning of my dental work simple.
Today as I write this, my mouth looks and feels better than it has since I was a child. So a HUGE thanks to Mike and the team. See you all at the next appointment.

I highly, highly, can’t get any higher, recommend Sam at The Gentle Dental Centre!
I fell over and damaged three teeth (read one smashed, one fell out but I put it back in, and one was badly pushed inwards into my mouth – intruded), and he’s been absolutely brilliant fixing up my munted mouth.
Three root canals? Breeze. Emergency tooth reconstruction in a bloody, traumatized mouth in an hour? Still going strong three months later.
And aside from that ruddy injection at the start, completely pain-free procedures (that injection hurts like a bastard but if it means no pain there-on, it’s totally worth it!).

Can’t Begin To Thank Them Enough
I recently had a lot of tricky work done, an implant and 2 new crowns.
I was very impressed with 2 great people at Gentle Dental- James Au and his assistant Brooke. James did a meticulous job, he explained things clearly, his work was very neat and the care he took was wonderful.
Brooke was great too, they worked well as a team. I am really pleased with the results and can’t begin to thank them enough!

He’s Got Gold Stars
If someone told me two years ago I’d be seeing a dentist every six weeks I would absolutely cringe.
But I’m glad I chose Gentle Dental Lambton Quay for my Invisalign treatment as ALL of the staff and my dentist Dr. Rehua Smallman are just awesome!
He’s got gold stars in making you feel welcome, comfortable, and just being an all-round GC.
